Where the Clinic is Located

The building is located in the historic center of Cesena, at via Renato Serra 2, close to the major thoroughfare that is via Emilia. Its location allows for easy accessibility by car — a large public parking lot has been built nearby — and quick access by urban transport, as well as by train, given the proximity of the Cesena Central Railway Station.

The Name

The Clinic is named after Domenico Malatesta, known as Malatesta Novello (1418-1465), lord of Cesena. In 1452 he founded the Malatestiana Library in the city, the first civic library in Europe: open to the public and belonging to the community, not to a family or a religious order. It is still preserved intact today, with its original codes and benches.

A name chosen to link the facility to the history of the city and to an idea of service aimed at everyone.

Institutional Purposes

The Clinic pursues six fundamental principles, guaranteed by the Medical Director.

1

Equality

Care is provided without distinction of age, gender, language, social status, political or religious opinions.

2

Impartiality

Behaviors towards the patient are based on objectivity, justice, and neutrality.

3

Continuity

Assistance is guaranteed in a continuous and regular manner, without interruptions in the care pathway.

4

Right of choice

The patient freely chooses the doctor and the place of care, without any material or moral constraint.

5

Participation

The patient is guaranteed correct information and the possibility to express observations and suggestions.

6

Efficiency and effectiveness

Resources are used to achieve the best possible result for the health of the patient.

To achieve these objectives, the Casa di Cura must be chosen by the patient freely and without any material and moral constraint, in order to ensure access to quality care as quickly as possible, regardless of age, social, ideological, political, and economic background. The guarantor of these principles is the Medical Director, whom the patient can refer to in any eventuality for their protection.

Services and guarantees

The Casa di Cura provides, both in inpatient and outpatient settings, diagnostic and treatment services for diseases: medical visits, nursing care, and every diagnostic, therapeutic, and rehabilitative procedure necessary to solve the patient's health problems and compatible with the technological equipment.

Safety

The highest level of safety in the practice of medicine, in the execution of treatments, and in the supervision of patients.

Quality and humanization

Care of the highest quality required by the patient's condition, in humane environmental conditions, to avoid any depersonalization due to hospitalization.

Adequate means

The availability of the necessary means for the doctor who takes responsibility for diagnosis and therapy.

Emergency interventions are also provided for patients or injured persons in urgent and medical emergency conditions, with possible hospital transport. The Casa di Cura does not have an Emergency Room service: however, a doctor is on duty 24 hours a day, every day of the year.
