Chemical peel

Chemical peeling is a medical treatment with recognized therapeutic capability that involves the application of one or more exfoliating chemical agents on the skin at a specific concentration and for a specific time.

Indications

This treatment is indicated in cases of dull, impure, seborrheic skin, presence of dyschromia and circumscribed hyperpigmented spots, enlarged pores, and superficial roughness. After one or more treatments, the skin will improve in terms of firmness, brightness, uniformity, and hydration, typical characteristics of young skin.

The procedure aims to improve the skin structure by stimulating a regeneration process: at the level of the cellular layers of the epidermis, reducing the cohesion between the cells that constitute it, it causes detachment of the stratum corneum, the keratin plug, and comedones, has a lightening effect and inhibits the activity of the sebaceous glands; at the level of the underlying dermis, it stimulates fibroblasts to produce glycoproteins and new collagen, restructuring the fibrous component of the skin.

How it works

The treatment is carried out through the application of one or more chemical substances in combination in the form of gel or liquid, and it can be performed not only on the face but also on the neck, décolleté, and hands. The number of passes or the application time depends on the substance used and the treatment program established during the consultation.

In the days following the treatment, it will be essential to hydrate the skin, apply high photoprotection for at least 15 days, and avoid exposure to UV radiation or tanning lamps.
